Setup Guide
SyrupChat
Setup
Sweet predictive chat for streamers. Twitch, Kick, YouTube, Instagram and TikTok — all in one OBS dock. Type faster, spell cleaner, and keep your head in the game — because your brain's already doing five other things.
Before you start
SyrupChat runs as a tiny background server on your PC and shows up inside OBS as a Custom Browser Dock — a panel you can drag anywhere in your layout. You only set this up once.
- 1Open OBS
- 2In the top menu bar click View → Docks → Custom Browser Docks
- 3Click the + button
- 4Name it SyrupChat
- 5Paste this URL: http://localhost:7681
- 6Click Apply
- 7Drag the dock wherever you want it
✅ This is permanent — OBS saves your dock layout. You never need to do this again, even after updates or restarts.
⚠️ Note: OBS must be open after SyrupChat is running or the dock will show a blank page. Step 2 covers how to make sure SyrupChat starts first.
🔇 Audio — Important for Streamers & DJs
SyrupChat is a silent app — it has no sounds of its own. But OBS routes all browser dock audio directly to your Desktop Audio source, which goes to your stream.
If you're a DJ or don't want any risk of sound on stream:
- Right-click the SyrupChat dock tab at the top of the panel
- Click Mute
- Right-click again — confirm there's a ✓ next to Mute
✅ OBS saves this setting permanently per dock — you only do it once.
If you're a streamer who wants notification sounds:
Leave it unmuted. SyrupChat won't produce sound itself, but this keeps the option open if you ever add browser-based alerts to the same dock.
Pick one option. You only do this once.
SyrupChat starts silently in the background every time you log into Windows. Your dock will always be ready when you open OBS. Nothing to think about, ever.
How to enable it:
- 1Open the SyrupChat dock in OBS
- 2Click the ⚙ Settings button
- 3Under Connected Accounts turn on the Start with Windows toggle
- 4Done. SyrupChat will now auto-start on every login.
If you prefer SyrupChat to only run when OBS is open, use the included Lua script. OBS will start SyrupChat automatically when it launches.
How to set it up:
- 1Open OBS
- 2Click Tools → Scripts in the top menu
- 3Click the + button (bottom left)
- 4Navigate to: C:\Program Files\SyrupChat\scripts\
- 5Select syrupchat-launcher.lua and click Open
- 6OBS will now start SyrupChat every time it opens.
Double-click SyrupChat from your desktop or Start Menu before you open OBS. The dock will load as soon as it connects.
- 1Inside the SyrupChat dock in OBS, click Log in with Twitch
- 2Twitch's login page will open — sign in and click Authorize
- 3You'll be redirected back and the dock will show your chat
Connect additional platforms from inside the dock under ⚙ Settings → Connected Accounts.
